I have been slowly moving over to Linux (Ubuntu) for my operating system on my computer (no more Windows for me :) ). The last thing that was holding me back was that I was having a hard time getting the video off of our camcorder, editing it, and getting it in such a way that it could be viewable.

Well, I finally jumped that hurtal. I was able to take the .vro file that the camcorder produces and using a little program called Avidemux, I was able to do a little editing and a little cutting to get clips I could use. The quality isn't that great, but I will work on the encoding and fps and stuff the like to get things looking better. I still have a lot to learn about video and video editing. :)
