More on David and Delivery

Friday morning at 5:00 I woke up to contractions. I was pretty sure that they were the ones because I had been experiencing all the fun stuff that leads up to labor the last couple of days. So I freaked out, woke up Chad made everybody get up and dress and jumped in the car. On the way to the babysitters I finally woke up and realized we should probably wait and time them for a while. So we went to McDonald's and ate breakfast and let the kids play for a little bit. After an hour and a half having them every 10 min and not being able to walk through them anymore, we dropped the kids off. HUGE thanks to the Thackers for watching the kids!

When they checked me at the hospital I was  at 4 cm. We figured they would keep me  especially since they were going to induce me the next day. Thankfully they did. I got an epidural and they broke my water at 8:30. It went kind of slow for the next couple of hours. At 11:45 or so I was at 6 cm and sent Chad to go get lunch because he has a history of passing out with babies. A few minutes after he left the contractions started getting really close together. The nurse checked me and I was complete. I called him and he raced back up. I pushed for a little bit and at 12:24 David was born.

At one point 3 nurses came rushing into the room and I could tell something was wrong. His heartbeat was dropping. They put me on oxygen and had me on my side and wouldn't let me move. We had a couple more scary drops. They thought the cord was wrapped around his neck. Turned out the cord was just really short so when he dropped there were problems. I'm so grateful for the technology that keeps my baby and I safe. Birth truly is a miracle!

All is well and we thank everyone for the good wishes and help that we have recieved. Enjoy a few more pictures.Family - Maggie

He's perfect! It's amazing how perfect they come! How are you feeling? Is it overwhelming to be a mother of 3 kids??? I can't even imagine... well yet :) I hope I fall in love with my new house, but I don't think it's the end of the road for us... So I don't want to get too attached. Good luck with all three kiddies :)

I still can't believe the "I pushed for a little bit" comment! I am glad you both are doing well.
