Answered Prayers

I was somewhere between 8 and 10 when my bunny got out of her cage and was loose in our wooded two acres. We lived in a well developed food chain and it was getting dark. There was no hope of me finding her. I said a prayer in my heart and within minutes Bambi, the rabbit not the deer, came hopping back to me.

As a 16 year old I was devastated to hear that my 14 year old cousin shot himself while playing with a gun. I cried for days and when I saw his lifeless body I wept. He was suppose to be moving, he never stopped. His viewing was in a large room with no windows in the center of the church. It was perfect funeral weather and when the power went out I knew Scotty was fine. In fact, he was having a great laugh! Here we are stuck in a room with a dead body with absolutely no light. I knew Heavenly Father let him pull the plug. And I got a good laugh too.

First loves are full of emotion and first breakups are just tough. A month after my first heartbreak I sat on the floor in my room just pleading for some comfort. I was wrapped in a blanket of moonlight and a feeling of peace. I went to sleep without a tear soaked pillow for the first time in weeks.

I woke up 15 minutes before I had to be out of the house for high school. I said a quick morning prayer and jokingly asked for more time to get ready. I jumped up and started scrambling around. After a few minutes I remembered that the night before I had set my clock 10 minutes fast. I laughed out loud and marveled at the Lord's sense of humor and power. I knelt again and thanked him for our budding relationship.
