Olive, the ER wonder
Our last day of Montana, while we were there for Thanksgiving, Olive fell off the piano bench and hit her head on the piano she so we ran to the ER where she got one staple. She was such a good sport and got about 5 toys.
In the middle of January she fell off the toilet and hit her chin on the counter in the bathroom. she bit through her bottom lip. We headed to the instacare with 15 minutes before it closed but they turned us down and said we needed to go to the ER to have her put to sleep. so we went to the ER which was crazy busy and waited six hours. finally at 12:30 they were able to put her to sleep and give her a three tiny little stitches and then she woke up a couple hours later. They put she to sleep by giving her a shot in the leg. They warned me that it would look like she died. Open eyes and everything. And it did. They told me she wasn't in pain but that the medicine makes her eyes water. It was awful to see her like that. We finally made it home at 3 a.m. next week we're headed to Primary Children's to check out her kidneys.
Update: Her tested showed little improvement so a surgery was scheduled. We moved on April 1st, Friday, and she had surgery April 4th, Monday. Grandma Lunt flew in to help with the chaos of the situation. We left he kids in her very good hands and took our little girl up to Primary Children's. They gave us special wipes to wipe her off with and clean pajamas. We played in a toy room until they called us back. Our sweet little girl waved good bye and was whisked off in a red little wagon. An hour or so later, we met in the room with her doctor and he told us all went as expected, she'd be fine. She was sleepy and had a bandage over a cut. After just a couple of hours, we took our little sleepy head home. She was incredibly brave and eager to be bouncing around again. We had to give her nasty blue medicine and pain killers. She hated that medicine! 2 times a day for 17 days. After a week the bandage came off and her cut turned into a scar that looks like she had a c-section.
The next Sunday, Chad bore his testimony during fast and testimony meeting. He talked about miracles and for the first and only time I've ever seen him tear up at church, he thanked Heavenly Father for the miracle of fixing Olive. It didn't help that at that moment she walked up the aisle to him. We are grateful. It was a wonder to be a part of this, starting with an ultrasound that shouldn't have been to a surgery that was simple. She is brave and tough and amazing. I thank God for her!
